The Dublin Link Pedestrian Bridge was designed to be an icon. From the initial competition to its final completion, each aspect of the bridge was conceived simultaneously as a sculptural form, an elegantly efficient structure, and a surprising, dramatic experience for visitors and residents alike. Its critical features of the Eye of the Needle central pylon, sinuously curving deck, and unusual single-sided suspension method combine to create an architecturally unique, spatially impactful, and structurally innovative focus for the City of Dublin’s ambitious program of urban renewal.
